What We Know about the New 2025 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban

Excitement for the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban is growing as their release date gets closer. Both Chevy SUVs will receive a refresh this year and will have many new features and upgrades compared to earlier models. It will be a few more months before we know everything about them, but in the meantime, we already have a lot of information we can share about these two great American vehicles. From technology updates to towing capabilities, here's everything we can share with you so far about the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban.

2025 Chevy Tahoe Confirmed Features

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe adds a powerful diesel option to its selection of engines. The standard gas engine is a 5.3-liter V8 that offers 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. It can tow as much as 8,400 pounds with add-on equipment. There's also an upgraded 6.2-liter V8 that produces 455 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque available on upper trims. Fuel economy is one thing we don't know at this time. Every Tahoe trim's engine is paired to a 10-speed transmission. RWD is standard and 4WD is available as an upgrade.

The new engine for this year's lineup is a Duramax turbodiesel. It's a 3.0-liter I6 that produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. The turbodiesel is expected to have less acceleration power than its gas counterparts but will offer the best fuel efficiency. It's also rated to tow up to 8,200 pounds.


Every Tahoe will have a big 17.7-inch infotainment screen and an 11-inch digital instrument gauge cluster. A 360-degree camera is a standard feature. The Connected Camera system is a new feature in this year's model, which allows you to remotely monitor the vehicle and its location. A digital rearview mirror and head-up display are available in upper trims. Chevy Safety Assist technology is standard on each version of the 2025 Tahoe.

There are six trim levels to choose from. The LS is the base trim and the LT adds extra features. The RST is for those who want a sporty in-town driving experience, while off-roaders will want to explore the Z71 with added skid plates. The Premier and High Country trims are the deluxe models that offer the most features and technology.

The 2025 Tahoe release date at this point is sometime in late 2024.

2025 Chevy Suburban Confirmed Features

The 2025 Chevrolet Suburban also gets a refresh for this year. The largest SUV in the Chevy family uses the same engines as the ones listed above for the Tahoe. There are 5.3- and 6.2-liter gas V8s, and the 3.0-liter I6 turbodiesel. The Suburban has a 10-speed transmission. RWD is standard and 4WD is available as an upgrade.

The front and rear fascias on the 2025 Suburban have been updated and the headlights and taillights have been restyled. There are also some new exterior paint options, and wheel sizes up to 24 inches.


Technology updates include a 17.7-inch infotainment screen and an 11-inch digital instrument gauge. The Suburban has a generous array of USB ports in all three rows and a wireless charging pad is available as an upgrade. A 360-degree camera makes parking this big family SUV a breeze. Add-ons include a digital rearview mirror and head-up display. The LT, RST, Premier, and High Country trims will all be equipped with the General Motors Super Cruise System, which allows for hand-free driving on hundreds of thousands of miles of roads across the US and Canada. The Connected Camera system for remote vehicle monitoring will be included as well.

The 2025 Chevy Suburban is expected to be as roomy as ever, with up to 144.7 cubic feet of storage space with the rear seats down.

The Suburban will be available in six trim versions. There's the base model LS, the LT, and the sporty RST versions. The Z71 will be the off-road version. The Premier trim is much more upscale and the High Country will be the most luxurious version of the 2025 Suburban with the most added technology and features.
